We are not sure where Matthew got this but it was pretty funny. Glen happily pretended that Matthew's silly arm movement was scary which Matthew thought to be very amusing. I especially love his little waddle at the first. We don't know what that was either. Just Matthew being silly.

Some of Matthew's words
Sorry this is so long and repetitive. A lot of what Matthew says is probably only understood by his parents since we hear it a lot. We tried to get Matthew talking a little and as you can see he doesn't really like to just sit. Some of the ways he says things makes Glen and I laugh so hard. It's fun to see him learning and growing up. He is so fun and we love him so much!

MY NEW CHAIR!!
I have been so excited to get this chair. The great thing about it is that it is plain so we can have it in our living room someday if we want to. The only thing I don't like about it is that it looks splotchy and I didn't think the one in the store did. It's some sort of microfiber material. Glen thinks I am just being picky and I guess it really doesn't bother me that bad. There is a foot rest that comes up so it feels pretty reclined even though the back doesn't really go back. Someday we will get the ottoman that goes with it that glides like the chair does. It has been a lot of fun to read to Matthew in it and for me to just relax...super comfy!!Monday, April 14, 2008
Update
1. Glen got a job for this summer working at the hospital. (details of what he will actually be
doing coming soon) It is only 5 weeks long so we will be able to go out west and visit family
for awhile in July. One week during that break we will be in Bear Lake boating and soaking
up the sun.
2. I am feeling much better these days......finally. I still get nauseous in the morning but at least
it is not all day and usually I can control it by eating something.
3. We are finding out what we are having on May 5th. Only 3 more weeks!!! I can't wait to find
out. I'm thinking it is a boy but who knows. I really don't have a preference. Having a boy
would save us a lot of money though. If we have a girl I am really going to have to be very
self controlled.
4. I am still trying to convince Glen to let me paint Matthew's room green. His poor room has
very few decorations and only has his bed and changing table in it. Soon we should be getting
a huge, comfy chair that I am so excited about.
5. Glen and I are staying busy with our callings in our ward. For those of you who don't know,
Glen is in the Young Men's presidency and I recently got called into the Primary presidency
which has been a lot of fun.
6. Glen has a test this Friday and next Monday and then only a few more weeks until school is
over. Wahoo!!
7. Matthew is so much fun these days but also very determined. Lately he really hates the
stroller, shopping cart, car seat, ect. This has made walking and shopping very difficult. He is
getting so big and I love him more and more everyday. Lately he loves balls, dogs, walking
outside, cooking, wrestling with his dad and rolling around on the floor. He always wants to
help with the cooking. I try to bring things on the floor and let him watch or let him help stir
things. He is starting to talk quite a bit which has been fun. He says quite a few words
although some are hard to understand or just part of words. His newest word is mole. He
pointed to Glen's face one day and I told him that was a mole and since then he finds every
mole on my face and tells me about it. It's pretty funny. Matthew is obsessed with garbage.
He will see it outside on garbage day and look out the window holding his nose which means
"stinky." Anytime he sees a garbage can or any garbage he grabs his nose. It's cute. Lately
he has been talking/singing before he falls asleep for 15 minutes, sometimes less,
sometimes more. It cracks me up that he will do that for so long, just happy to be in his
crib.
8. Glen turned 25 on April 10th.
9. Matthew went to nursery last Sunday. Glen was going to go in with him and only stay half the time but he ended up leaving him there the whole time and it sounded like he did great. He really isn't supposed to go in until May so Glen cheated a little. I told Glen we should probably wait until May. I think he is pretty excited for Matthew to go since he has been the one taking him the last two hours of church because I am in the primary. Matthew is kind of quiet around other kids and people sometimes which is funny because he is usually very loud and active at home and once he gets to know people. He is a very happy and social boy.
10. I have finally begun to catch up on my scrapbook. I have a LOT to do.
11. Now that I am feeling a lot better I am going to start exercising more again which I really need to do. I go to walking group twice a week but I am going to start taking Matthew to the day care at the YMCA where I can workout. Yeah, I'm excited to get going again. It makes me feel a lot better.
That's about it!

More of Matthew
Big boy
Matthew loves not having clothes on. He will sometimes start pulling down his pants and come to me to help him take them off. He also really likes this hat which is Glen's. He also still loves his blue blanket from Grandma Susy. He will not come out of his crib in the morning unless we bring his blanket along. It's very cute.

Getting a little silly before bed
Matthew was being a little silly and confused one night. He gets pretty funny sometimes before bed and during the day sometimes too.

Swimming
Saturday we went swimming at the Hilton by the medical school. We can go there with our YMCA passes. The first time we went it was freezing so it wasn't as fun. The water heater must not have been working but it was nice and warm when we went this time. Matthew really loved it. We had so much fun with him. He kicked his legs like crazy and was all smiles. We even dunked him a couple of times and he didn't seem to mind. Glen enjoyed giving Matthew a swimming lesson (sort of).

Matthew of the jungle
This big gorilla was sitting right at the window staring at us and eating lettuce. Matthew was really focused on the big guy who was eating lettuce. I finally looked down at Matthew and he was chewing just like the gorilla was. It really made Glen and I laugh.
We had a fun time at the zoo the other day. Matthew really liked the fish, gorillas, and the sloth bear. It seemed all the animals gave us quite a show by coming right up to the windows. The sloth bear came right up and was sticking his big nose on the window smelling. Matthew joined in and was smelling him back. It was pretty funny. One of the polar bears came flying right at the window out of nowhere and I think it scared or at least surprised me more than Matthew.

Spring Break....not very spring feeling.
This is how we always find Matthew every night when we check on him before we go to bed. Usually his head is right in the corner of his crib too. I love his little bum sticking up in the air, so cute!! Sometimes we try to move him on his back but he usually flips right back over again.
We had a fun time visiting with Glen's parents up in Michigan. It is always nice to get away for awhile. Matthew's grandad was his favorite person because he was the one who fed him a cupcake!!
Matthew really enjoyed riding in this little wagon at first and then I think the blocks he was sitting on were hurting him. We had a fun time visiting and Matthew was very busy. He really enjoyed running around the house and playing with all the balls. He was constantly saying ba bah.
I am already loving having Glen home so much. We have a few fun things planned for this week: the zoo, main library downtown, maybe the art museum, swimming (indoor of course), movies, walks with Matthew, and just hanging out. Glen has been such a big help around the house and with Matthew; I don't know how I will adjust back to not having him around most of the day. I think there is one day this week where we will hit 50 degrees. We also have at least two days of snow. yipee!!Tuesday, March 4, 2008
So funny
Matthew is such a silly boy. It doesn't take much to get him in laughing fits like this one. His favorite thing lately is riding his horse (Glen). I will have to get a video of it sometime. He really thinks it is pretty funny and starts laughing when he falls off the horse. I love him so much.

Update
I know it has been awhile since I posted anything but I guess things haven't been all that exciting here lately. So here is another picture of Matthew being Matthew (pretty much what our blog consists of). I'm not sure what he is doing but he does it a lot. He clenches his fists together and just moves his arms up and down really fast. Usually he does it standing up and bends his legs up and down so I guess it looks like a dance of some sort. Pretty cute! Sometimes I think I should put pictures up of Glen and I but I don't know what it would be of. Maybe Glen standing on his head and me doing summersaults. I guess we don't do those things so it would probably be boring like us sitting on the couch or something. When anatomy is over and it starts getting warmer we will do something fun that we can take pictures of. I am very ready for nice weather. Matthew and I can go on walks everyday around our little neighborhood, go to the park, the zoo, and eventually a swimming pool. I am also very excited for the summer when Glen will be around more to do fun things. We don't know what we are doing yet but Glen will probably get some job here in Toledo that is medical related to give him experience. Either way he will still be home more and we will have Saturdays again!! I really can't complain though because he has been home on Saturdays for most of the day lately which is great. Spring break is coming up soon though which will be fun. We are going to the temple in Detroit and to visit Glen's family for awhile up there. We are also going to drive up to Toronto to visit Glen's grandparents. After that we will have the rest of the week in Toledo to do some fun things. Sunday, February 17, 2008

Happy Valentines Day!!!
Just call me Martha.....haha not even. I tried though. Matthew really enjoyed the chocolate cup cakes
I love my boy!!!
Two of Matthew's favorite things....his soft blanket (any soft blanket works) and his lion which I started to give him when he takes naps. I think he likes him. He will cuddle his face into the lion's face
Matthew loves putting any type of clothing around his neck and walking around the house with it. Lately he has loved this scarf of mine.Friday, February 8, 2008

Pots and Pans
Doing his math while sitting in a pan, what a kid.
Matthew really likes all the pots and pans and really everything in the kitchen cupboards or drawers. It was pretty funny to watch him carry this big pot around with shoes he had also put in . Matthew is really sick, AGAIN. I feel like he has been sick too much and hope this is the last of it this winter. He is just coughing like crazy and it does not sound very good. Poor guy was coughing all night and would wake up and cry a little and then go back to sleep. I'm going to take him to the doctor tomorrow because it has been going on for awhile and just started getting a little worse. I went and got x-rays on my knees on Friday so hopefully I will get all of that figured out soon. Glen's anatomy test is this week. Wahooo!! So he will be very busy this week. After this test there is only one more and then anatomy is done. I'm probably more excited about it then Glen is because he isn't going to be as busy and I will get to see him more. Glen really has been enjoying anatomy though which is good.Thursday, January 31, 2008
Feeling old

Oh Matthew
This morning Matthew was being so silly. He loves sitting on the couch and always wants me to lift him up. He starts bouncing and grinning so big. I think it makes him feel like a big boy sitting like us adults do. This morning he was just laying here for quite awhile, which is probably a minute, but for Matthew that is staying in one spot for a long time. He is usually always on the go. The last couple of days he has woken up at 7:15. I am in heaven!! He usually wakes up between 6-6:30. Now if only he would take a good nap but hey you can't have everything.Wednesday, January 23, 2008

Medicine Ball
Last night we went to the medicine ball and it was a blast. It is a dinner and dance for all the medical students. We had a group from our ward and it was a lot of fun to go and dance and do something without the kids!! Thanks to Glen's parents for babysitting Matthew.
A lot of the guys that Glen spends time with at school, church, ect. All of them are first and second year students
All of us ladies!! I also spend time with many of these girls at different relief society activites and such. I think one of these girls popped in to be apart of the picture. Tuesday, January 8, 2008
Christmas break!
We had a wonderful Christmas break in Idaho. It was so good to see all of my family and be together for so long. Besides the fact that we all got sick at one point or another, especially the kids, it was a lot of fun. We played games, watched movies, played basketball and ping pong, went snowmobilling, went skiing, sat in the hot tub, and ate good food. Thanks mom and dad for making it such a nice break. Our family is the greatest, I love you all. It is good to be back home though and it really feels like home.
Jordan and Jonathan's birthday (Jonathan's was on a date) Sadly we never got a picture with all of the family. Jenny and Nate's family was not there yet
Laughing at our night before christmas video we made and our "Office" interviews
All the boys got John Deer tractors
Matthew and Jordan playing the piano
Matthew kept trying to get in this tub so Jonathan took him for a ride
Thomas and Matthew in the tub. Mom had fun with the foam. These two were quite the pair following each other around all over but not really paying much attention to each other. They hardly looked at the yellow foam on each others heads.Monday, December 10, 2007
Our silly boy
I got this hat for Matthew for a couple of dollars. I thought it was so cute but Matthew will not keep it on. Matthew is sick....again. He has a fever and is congested. He hasn't been very happy the last two days. I really hope it goes away and doesn't turn into an ear infection. We couldn't get him in to get ear tubes until the middle of January. I just hope we are all healthy for Christmas in Idaho. I am getting very excited to all of my family and Glen!! Glen has his big anatomy test this Friday and then has a break from school until January 7th.
