Sunshine

Since it has been over 80 degrees here this last week we decided to dig out our little pool from the shed. The kids had a blast until they got cold. The water was freezing compared to in the summer when you have to run the hose for a second before touching it because it can be so hot! It was a fun week and so fun to watch the leaves on the trees changing so quickly. Our big white blossom tree is now all green and it seems like it happened overnight. We are loving spring although I am not loving my crazy allergies.

What it has been looking like at our house lately

First off...there are 4 new posts after this one. It makes since just to post once a week or something but sometimes I am bad at doing it that way so I do the last 3 months all at once.
It has been unusually warm lately and right now it is 82 degrees outside. Yesterday I even noticed I looked a little red after getting back from the park. Glen had the day off yesterday and we had a awesome day. We got out early for a walk and walked to a park. We then let the kids ride their bikes. We finally got training wheels for the bike that Matthew learned how to ride on without training wheels. He is now on his bigger bike again and Taylor has been dying to get a speed bike as she calls it. She is way to big for her tricycle anymore. She was so happy and went speeding down the sidewalk. Both of the kids bikes we got for free!! Matthew also tried out his garage sale roller blades yesterday and he and Glen threw a baseball around. I took the kids to the park while Glen studied for Step 3 (boards exam), we had a yummy dinner and watched a movie together. It is so nice to have a day together like that as a whole family since that doesn't happen too often. Glen picked out their clothes early in the morning and after awhile I made them go change into shorts and a t-shirt because it was too hot. Matthew told me I had to take a picture of him with his tower and put it on the blog so here it is :) Matthew took this picture without me knowing and I thought it was a good view of our cove where we spend a lot of time. You can see all the chalk the kids did with our neighbors grand kids the other day. Our tree is turning white!!! It is fun to see everyday how more and more blossoms pop out. Other trees like this one are much further along so it is getting really pretty around. Matthew had an umbrella parade at school this week and so the umbrella was used the rest of the day inside too.Taylor and her friend Malynn. We take turns watching each others kids so we can go to the Temple. A couple of weeks ago it was nice enough out we decided to wash the car. The kids had a lot of fun and after we were done they squirted each other with the hose until they were soaked. They finally wanted to go in because they were too cold.

Happy

Watching my kids run and play makes me so happy. I love that we now have space for them to do just that. I love these two more than anything!! When life is hard, which it usually is, they help bring a smile to my face and help me to remember to count my blessings!

The Girls

These are the only pictures I have taken of Taylor's preschool group. The funny thing is that Matthew is in all of them because when I taught the last two times it fell on a holiday and Matthew's preschool gave the kids the day off. He is a good helper though. It is so fun teaching these little girls and I think they all seem to love it. I know Taylor really enjoys it!! The first picture is of them having humpty dumpty fall off the wall. We also had used real eggs at one point (hard boiled of course). The last pictures the kids were sledding because we learned about snow.

January Visitors!!

My parents came to Memphis in January to visit us and it was so nice to have them here. The kids were so excited to see them and show them everything. We did some of our usual things when visitors come and some others too: shelby farms, the Zoo, downtown trolly, Beal Street, out to eat, walked along the Mississippi river, and just played and visited. We had fun at A. Schwab's (an original store in Memphis). I am not sure what type of store this is but it has some of the wackiest and random things you have ever seen. Mom couldn't resist the hats and had to buy two for her silly hat collection for the grandkids. Took our own pictures at the picture booth at the zoo. So great!!

January

We finally raked some of our leaves in January and we really need to get another rake because Matthew wants to do it all the time. On New Years Eve we went to our friends the Hauck's house to celebrate. We even stayed up until midnight which I don't think we have done for years. The kids had fun and finally fell asleep so we could play some games. The next day after church we were making dinner and I looked under our kitchen table to find Matthew asleep. Taylor had put a lot of her blankets under the table and her and Matthew were playing under there for awhile. I love that he has my ear warmers on. Either he thinks they feel good or he purposefully put them on so he could go to sleep while his very loud sister was talking. He is getting so big!During Christmas break Matthew's preschool teachers sent him three white circles and he was supposed to bring it back as a snowman. Of course we had to make Taylor one too.
