Snow....and two more new posts below (zoo lights & gingerbread houses)

It hasn't snowed a whole lot here but we got just enough and headed outside to play in it. The kids loved throwing snowballs, making snow angels, and building snowmen. The snow was great for making snowmen but as you can see we only had enough snow to build little ones......perfect for Matthew and Taylor. Why can't I have eyelashes like Matthew?
Taylor gets blue boots and blue snow pants this year and Matthew has some lovely snow pants I got last year from Target for a few dollars. The kids were also wearing me and Glen's hats since there hats were in the car or somewhere. Who wears cute matching snow clothes anyway? Okay, I am sure some people do.

Lights at the Zoo

We went to see the lights at the zoo back in the very end of November. It was great because the weather was not bad and since then it has been so cold here. Matthew and Taylor loved it!! Matthew remembered where we saw Santa last year and wanted to go there first. Their camera broke down again thus letting us take a picture with our own camera for the second year in a row. He wasn't the most jolly Santa; our favorite out of the three we saw this year was the one we saw at Bass Pro Shops yesterday. Taylor was full of energy and pretty much walked through the whole zoo singing Santa Claus is coming to town and dancing. Matthew on the other hand hit that no nap wall and actually ended up falling asleep in the stroller towards the end. Either way we had a great time.

Matthew and I worked on the house while Glen and Taylor did the tree. Taylor mostly ate the candy rather than putting it on the tree.

Loving December!!

We had our ward party on Saturday and we had to carry the kids out because they did not want to leave; they just love running around wild with their friends. They both liked seeing Santa and it looks like Santa was a little nervous in one of the pictures that Taylor was going to pull his beard off. We saw Santa at our zoo when we went and saw the Christmas lights there a few weeks ago. I will try to get pictures of that up soon.
This month has been so fun with Matthew and Taylor. They seem to be excited about every little Christmas activity and are just soaking it all in. We have been doing a scripture reading Christmas tree thing from the friend everyday and they enjoy gluing the ornament onto the tree. It asks questions about Jesus' birth and we find the answer in the scriptures. Matthew wanted to act it out with our fisher price nativity today which was very cute.

Fun ideas for the winter

I have been loving a site of an old friend from our ward in Provo and wanted to share. Here name is Nicole and she is so talented and is such a good mom to her four little girls. Lately I have been getting supplies together to make a few of her projects. Here we are making new crayons from old broken crayons; Matthew was a good little helper. I am also going to make chalkboards for the kids and a chalkboard menu platter and sometime this week we are going to make homeade marshmellows for hot chocolate. Thanksgiving week...Columbus, Akron, Toronto, and Michigan

We finally were able to go with Glen to some interviews the week of Thanksgiving. He had two in Ohio and then we were planning on driving up to Toronto for a few days to visit with Glen's Grandma.
On Monday we headed to Columbus where we got to stay with the Snow family and visit while Glen was interviewing. The Snow's lived in Toledo before they moved to Columbus and it was a lot of fun to see them. Before we headed to Akron, Ohio we stopped at an amazing ice cream place. They had a sweet potato ice cream that was so good! The kids had the most colorful ice cream they had and it was lavender flavor. BLAH!! Glen didn't mind it but I thought like I was eating perfume. Doesn't the pictures of Taylor eating ice cream just make you want to feed that girl ice cream everyday? She was so happy and excited.
Akron was the only place that actually paid for the hotel for Glen and it was pretty nice too. We had pizza hut pizza and Glen took the kids swimming while I got the pizza. The kids think it is so fun to stay in a hotel. We spent the next day playing at McDonalds, Old Navy, Wal Mart and the hotel while Glen interviewed.
After the interview we drove straight to Toronto. By this point we were swimming in stuff in the car. The kids did really good in the car and we spent a couple of days with Glen's Grandma. Of course the kids wanted to get into every cupboard and drawer possible but we had a lot of fun up there. We helped put up Christmas lights and had some great food. We had a great visit.
Saturday morning we drove down to Michigan and went to the temple and spent the day with Glen's parents. The kids really love it there and were excited that we stayed the night. We drove home Sunday morning just in time to speak in Sacrament meeting and Glen had to teach young mens and I had to do sharing time. It was a crazy week but a lot of fun. It was nice to be with Glen so much for a change.

The hotel in Akron had a love seat just Matthew's size so it made a perfect bed.

It was a huge play place and we had it all to ourselves. Matthew is up at the top in the picture below.

Glen and I were deep in conversation somewhere in Canada and I heard a lot of laughing and this is what we saw after turning around. They had found our electric toothbrushes and thought it was so funny. It was pretty fun to watch.
