Trick or Treating
It was the perfect night for trick or treating. It had rained a lot of the day but had stopped by the time we started. It seemed that we were the only ones out for awhile. It was a little windy and the sky was kind of creepy which was fun. It was also not very cold which was great! We met up with our friends the Woods and strolled the neighborhood street by street. We got home and sorted candy. I had to tell them to eat some candy and they were surprised when I told them to have a couple. I thought that was so funny but I think they were just enjoying sorting the candy. I am not one of those parents who lets them eat as much as they want that first night. Why would I when they were totally happy and surprised to get as much as they did. They become very winy when candy is around and expect it and ask for it all the time the days after Halloween which is annoying. I let them have some every day for awhile and then we take it to the local pediatric dentist. They weigh your candy and pay you for it and then they send it to the troops overseas. I think it is a win win. I just can't keep it in the house very long because I eat way too much of it myself. Glen has not trick or treated with us since we moved here. Here is hoping for next year but we had a lot of fun anyway!!! Matthew decided to wear his ninja costume instead of the tin man which made it a lot easier to run around.
| Look at that big cheese. He was so happy just to play with it all. |
Taylor's Preschool Party
Taylor's class party was a lot of fun. They did games, face painting, lunch, and stories. Taylor really loves her preschool and has such a fun time.

Ward Halloween Party
The ward Halloween party was a blast as usual. They do games, donuts, hay ride, and of course the trunk or treat. It was fun to do a family theme this year and it came together pretty easily. I wasn't really planning on doing it at all but while at the second hand store I found the Dorothy and lion costume and I decided we should do a theme. Thanks to my friend Katie for letting us borrow some of the tin man costume and scarecrow; that made it a lot easier. We did end up getting best group costume too.

Priddy Farms
Our annual trip to Priddy Farms was great. We get the same Groupon deal every year so we get the couple pumpkins that comes with the deal and then go to Aldi and get some way cheaper big ones. Frugal not cheap right!?! It has fun to have something fall like here. I always miss Ohio during the fall. It just isn't as pretty and we don't have our adorable McQueens apple orchard to go to and pick apples and pay your nickel for apple cider and get donuts. I miss our big metro parks with the very vibrant trees. The trees change slower here so a lot of them just end up a dull color. Okay okay......enough of that. I love Memphis but I just miss the fall in Toledo that is all. Marty enjoyed playing in the pumpkins and it makes for some fun pictures.
Nature Center- October
The Nature Center is so fun and we went on free Tuesday after Matthew got out of school. We were surprised to see TONS of these scarecrow recycled creatures all over the lawn. It was really fun to see and the kids wanted a picture by almost every one. I only posted a few.
