School's out for the summer!!!!!

It doesn't get much better than this does it? Sunshine......swimming.......and smoothies!!! I have been so excited for this day and for this whole summer really. The kids had new beach towels, 2 board games, and some bubbles waiting for them after we picked up Matthew. I am excited for slower days and to hear the chatter again in my home of two sweet kids playing (hopefully not fighting too much). We have a fun summer ahead of us and I know it is going to go by too fast. School starts again on August 5th. We are starting out the summer this coming week by going on a trip with Glen's family to Branson Missouri; Glen will be there too :)

Last day of school May 23rd, 2013 and below was his first day of school August 6th, 2012
He looks a lot the same but is taller, his feet are huge, and his face seems to be thinning out. He just looks older. The bottom picture was also the first day of school. I just love that one so I thought I would include it. Taylor is beyond excited to have her brother back!!! WELCOME TO SUMMER!

Baby Marty

I will catch up on my blog someday but I thought I should post some newer pictures to show you my sweet baby boy! We sure do love this little guy! All of these pictures are between 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 months and the newest ones are more towards the bottom. I took the bottom couple before we went to church this morning. I was having too much fun giving him a bath, getting him dressed, and taking pictures that we were almost late for church but we weren't. I am not very good at posting stats and things like that but I would say Marty is perfectly plump and has a big head like our other too! I think he weighed 15 pounds 6 ounces at 4 months. He and Taylor were about the same exact weight at 4 months. Marty is a happy happy baby if..... (there is an if) he is getting attention as you can see from the pictures. I definately have to hold him a lot and sometimes do not get much done so I wouldn't say he is the easiest baby around but we love him anyway :) He has always been a great sleeper at night (naps are another story) until the last month he has been sleeping awful. He would do 8 hour stretches from the get go and now wakes up every 3 hours. He has been sick a lot this last month and has a cold again now but I think it is just becoming a habit. I am not sure when we will have him cry it out at night. I have become quite the softy but this waking up three or four times is getting the best of me. Marty loves Matthew and Taylor and gets so excited when they are around. Matthew can get him to laugh better than the rest of us. Taylor is sometimes just a little too much I guess you could say. She is always right in his face kissing him constantly and singing loud. He sure brings a special spirit into our home and I just can't get enough of his sweet little face.
Do you like his tounge sticking out? I took about 10 pictures of him in the stroller and he had his tounge out in all of them. We were on a walk and got stuck in the rain. Luckily I knew one of Matthew's classmates lived close by and I ran to their house to wait out the rain. Marty was asleep and I just put a blanket over him and he didn't notice the rain at all. Taylor and I were pretty wet though.

Marty is a big drooler. I finally bought some bibs because otherwise he is soaked all the time.

Don't you just want to eat him up

So we no longer swaddle him and maybe that is part of why he wakes up more at night. He has found his two fingers and I think it is pretty sweet although I am sure I won't think so when he is older. It has helped him with falling to sleep easier which has been nice. I tried and tried with the binki and for awhile he did take it a little but he wasn't much of a fan so we got rid of them.

Matthew and Taylor did a pretty good job changing Marty's diaper the other day.

A few days ago at about 5 PM which is just a bad time for Marty I decided to try some oatmeal. He wasn't letting me make dinner or do anything so I thought why not try feeding him. I think he really liked it but we have only done it twice. I might just wait a few more weeks until he is 6 months but we will see. It was cute watching him eat though.

I love his chubby little arms and hands.

Before church today. I did put his shorts on before we left but I think it is pretty cute without them.
