I know it has been awhile since I posted anything but I guess things haven't been all that exciting here lately. So here is another picture of Matthew being Matthew (pretty much what our blog consists of). I'm not sure what he is doing but he does it a lot. He clenches his fists together and just moves his arms up and down really fast. Usually he does it standing up and bends his legs up and down so I guess it looks like a dance of some sort. Pretty cute! Sometimes I think I should put pictures up of Glen and I but I don't know what it would be of. Maybe Glen standing on his head and me doing summersaults. I guess we don't do those things so it would probably be boring like us sitting on the couch or something. When anatomy is over and it starts getting warmer we will do something fun that we can take pictures of. I am very ready for nice weather. Matthew and I can go on walks everyday around our little neighborhood, go to the park, the zoo, and eventually a swimming pool. I am also very excited for the summer when Glen will be around more to do fun things. We don't know what we are doing yet but Glen will probably get some job here in Toledo that is medical related to give him experience. Either way he will still be home more and we will have Saturdays again!! I really can't complain though because he has been home on Saturdays for most of the day lately which is great. Spring break is coming up soon though which will be fun. We are going to the temple in Detroit and to visit Glen's family for awhile up there. We are also going to drive up to Toronto to visit Glen's grandparents. After that we will have the rest of the week in Toledo to do some fun things. Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Happy Valentines Day!!!
Just call me Martha.....haha not even. I tried though. Matthew really enjoyed the chocolate cup cakes
I love my boy!!!
Two of Matthew's favorite things....his soft blanket (any soft blanket works) and his lion which I started to give him when he takes naps. I think he likes him. He will cuddle his face into the lion's face
Matthew loves putting any type of clothing around his neck and walking around the house with it. Lately he has loved this scarf of mine.Friday, February 8, 2008

Pots and Pans
Doing his math while sitting in a pan, what a kid.
Matthew really likes all the pots and pans and really everything in the kitchen cupboards or drawers. It was pretty funny to watch him carry this big pot around with shoes he had also put in . Matthew is really sick, AGAIN. I feel like he has been sick too much and hope this is the last of it this winter. He is just coughing like crazy and it does not sound very good. Poor guy was coughing all night and would wake up and cry a little and then go back to sleep. I'm going to take him to the doctor tomorrow because it has been going on for awhile and just started getting a little worse. I went and got x-rays on my knees on Friday so hopefully I will get all of that figured out soon. Glen's anatomy test is this week. Wahooo!! So he will be very busy this week. After this test there is only one more and then anatomy is done. I'm probably more excited about it then Glen is because he isn't going to be as busy and I will get to see him more. Glen really has been enjoying anatomy though which is good.Thursday, January 31, 2008
Feeling old
I need to vent a little today about something that is driving me crazy. I have had bad knees for a long time but they have gotten worse since this last summer. It hurts really bad to bend down, go up and down the stairs, sit in a chair, and just bend my knee. I really don't know what it is and I need to go get an x-ray. Today it was really bad and I had to limp to walk, so no walking group........sad because I love walking group. We usually walk around 3 miles and it feels great. So it has just been really annoying because sometimes it is bad enough that I can't exercise and that makes me very very sad/mad/ect. It comes and goes which really makes me wonder what it could be. I'm only 23, too young to have such problems right??

Oh Matthew
This morning Matthew was being so silly. He loves sitting on the couch and always wants me to lift him up. He starts bouncing and grinning so big. I think it makes him feel like a big boy sitting like us adults do. This morning he was just laying here for quite awhile, which is probably a minute, but for Matthew that is staying in one spot for a long time. He is usually always on the go. The last couple of days he has woken up at 7:15. I am in heaven!! He usually wakes up between 6-6:30. Now if only he would take a good nap but hey you can't have everything.Wednesday, January 23, 2008
Question.....please answer!
Dutailer brand
Sorry, no pictures this time. I am trying to not take quite so many pictures or at least print them out so I don't have to scrapbook sooo many. I figure Matthew is one and I don't need to take pictures of every little funny face or funny thing he does. I have not even started his scrapbook or gotten caught up with mine. That is one of my goals this winter, we'll see how it goes. I do have a question to anyone who wishes to comment. With some Christmas money I have been wanting to buy a rocker/glider/something. I have been looking around at babies r us and other places. The price range really varies. I got advice to not get the wooden glider type that are not very wide because while nursing or whatever the babies head bangs into the arm rests. So I have been looking at the more chair looking rockers but they are quite expensive. I found my favorite brand, Dutailer, which makes a wide wooden glider (super comfy) and the cute rocker chairs. They are expensive but it really might be worth it if the cheap ones will fall apart. Give me your advice please!!!!

Medicine Ball
Last night we went to the medicine ball and it was a blast. It is a dinner and dance for all the medical students. We had a group from our ward and it was a lot of fun to go and dance and do something without the kids!! Thanks to Glen's parents for babysitting Matthew.
A lot of the guys that Glen spends time with at school, church, ect. All of them are first and second year students
All of us ladies!! I also spend time with many of these girls at different relief society activites and such. I think one of these girls popped in to be apart of the picture. Matthew news: He got his first molar. Yesterday I finally noticed it. It probably had been there for a little while and I just didn't see it. I was happy to find out that the tooth coming in was the reason for his crankiness awhile ago. The other one should probably be coming soon. YIPEE

Christmas break!
We had a wonderful Christmas break in Idaho. It was so good to see all of my family and be together for so long. Besides the fact that we all got sick at one point or another, especially the kids, it was a lot of fun. We played games, watched movies, played basketball and ping pong, went snowmobilling, went skiing, sat in the hot tub, and ate good food. Thanks mom and dad for making it such a nice break. Our family is the greatest, I love you all. It is good to be back home though and it really feels like home.
Jordan and Jonathan's birthday (Jonathan's was on a date) Sadly we never got a picture with all of the family. Jenny and Nate's family was not there yet
Laughing at our night before christmas video we made and our "Office" interviews
All the boys got John Deer tractors
Matthew and Jordan playing the piano
Matthew kept trying to get in this tub so Jonathan took him for a ride
Thomas and Matthew in the tub. Mom had fun with the foam. These two were quite the pair following each other around all over but not really paying much attention to each other. They hardly looked at the yellow foam on each others heads.Monday, December 10, 2007
Our silly boy
I got this hat for Matthew for a couple of dollars. I thought it was so cute but Matthew will not keep it on. Matthew is sick....again. He has a fever and is congested. He hasn't been very happy the last two days. I really hope it goes away and doesn't turn into an ear infection. We couldn't get him in to get ear tubes until the middle of January. I just hope we are all healthy for Christmas in Idaho. I am getting very excited to all of my family and Glen!! Glen has his big anatomy test this Friday and then has a break from school until January 7th.Tuesday, December 4, 2007
Happy Birthday Matthew, two weeks ago!
Since we didn't get to do the whole cake thing on Matthew's birthday while we were in Mexico, I decided we still needed to do it. So last week I made a cake, not a very fancy one but Matthew seemed to enjoy it. Everytime he came into the kitchen he would point to the cake on the counter and squeal because he wanted me to give him some. Sadly for Matthew I didn't give in and Glen and I ended up eating too much of it to get rid of it.

Cancun was a lot of fun and it was nice to get away for awhile. Glen's family was all very helpful with Matthew but it was really nice when Glen finally got there. Mostly because I missed him so much. He did let me sleep a little longer one morning by taking Matthew for a walk early in the morning. Matthew decided to wake up at 4:30 every morning which made me very tired. Glen came on Thanksgiving day and got to spend two days there while Matthew and I stayed a week. It was fun to play with Matthew on the beach and in the pools. The sun felt great!! Flying with Matthew is a little crazy but he did okay. Three weeks and we will be flying again for Christmas break. YEAH!!! This video was from last night. It really sounds like Matthew is trying to see the words, pretty funny. He loves when Glen comes home! Tomorrow I take Matthew in for his shots/1 year check up and we are going to an ear, nose, and throat doctor to see what they think about Matthew's reoccuring ear infections, to see if they think he needs tubes or not. Poor Matthew, I think he has gone to the doctor too much that he really doesn't like it. They look at him and he starts screaming. Should be fun!!

Yeah Matthew
Matthew has sure been eating a lot lately. The spit up was pretty funny. Don't worry he isn't throwing up anymore, just spitting up. He is doing a lot better.
Christmas...already??

I know, I know, it's a little early to be thinking Christmas but I talked Glen into letting me start putting up Christmas stuff since I was going to be gone a week in November and we are leaving so early in December. I was so excited to find this tree. It only cost us 30 dollars and it's 7 feet tall. I thought that it was a pretty good find. We went and got balls for it at Hobby Lobby and they were all half off so it was great. I love it!! Glen laughs at me because I love Christmas so much. Below is a picture of our new pillows that Glen and Kirstin got me for my birthday. Thanks so much, I love them! The beautiful flowers were from Leisy and Lindsay for my birthday. They are so sweet! I have been putting up the rest of our decorations too. Matthew loves the tree and sadly there aren't many decorations towards the bottom as he loves to take them off.Thursday, November 8, 2007
Sweet boy
Matthew is still sick but hopefully things will get better from now on. He threw up again on Tuesday night. We were really surprised because it had been 4 days since the first time he threw up. We went for a drive twice during the night to get him back to sleep because he was not calming down. Today he seems a lot better and the diarrhea is slowing. I feel like he has gotten so skinny (I know to most of you he probably still looks chubby). The picture above Matthew is doing one of his new tricks. When I say up, he stands up, and when I say down he gets into squating position. He first did it in the bathtub, he's pretty funny.
Today I was really bored since I haven't been wanting to take Matthew out much since he is sick so we started packing for Cancun. We leave next Saturday, the 17th. I was going through all Matthew's clothes to see if he had any summer clothes that fit him. I am getting really excited to get away and get some sun. I am sad that Glen will only get to be there two full days and I will be there 7. We are going with Glen's family and some of his aunt and uncles and cousins. Monday, November 5, 2007

Poor Matthew
We have had a hard couple of days. Poor Matthew is still not doing too well. He isn't throwing up anymore but has crazy diarrhea. It started sometime during the night or early morning on Saturday. He has been going every 30 minutes for quite awhile. Today it has gotten a little less but still every 45 minutes to an hour. Everytime it is a blowout so I am very grateful for a washer and dryer at this point. We are a little worried about him getting dehydrated but are trying to force fluids. We went to the doctor again on Saturday and they gave him another big antibiotic shot like the one they gave him in the emergency room. The ER was not a very fun experience for anyone, especially Matthew. They tried to put an IV in him but couldn't find a vein so they poked him a lot. They came and took his blood twice and did an x-ray on his chest. After all of that he started screaming when anyone came into the room. Smart kid knows that everybody was being mean to him. They were worried because his white blood cell count was really high and thought the infection might get into his blood or that he might have pnemonia, which he doesn't. I think the white blood cell count was high due to his double ear infection. Poor guy! He has been acting pretty good although yesterday evening and a little of today he has been crying a lot. We sure wish he could just tell us what is wrong. He just screams everytime we have to change his diaper because his bum is so sore. I hate doing it. Hopefully things will start getting better although today I haven't been feeling so hot so I think I got a little of what Matthew has.

Fall Festivities
On our walk today we saw this 3 foot tall pile of leaves. We had to throw Matthew in for a picture. He actually really liked it and just sat there looking at the leaves and listening to them crunch as he moved.

Trunk or Treat
