Bartlett had their fireworks and celebrations on the 2nd which was great because Glen was off and did have to work on the 4th. The fireworks were great and we all had a lot of fun. The kids and I went to some friends house for a barbecue on the 4th and the kids played in their kiddie pool; it was a great holiday weekend.

Lemon curd cupcakes from the book The Cupcake Doctor.....I also have the Cake Doctor book and I love them. All the recipes use a cake mix but then add other ingredients to make them all a little fancier. Thanks to Glen's Mom for introducing me to the books and thanks to Glen for buying them for me!
We started out the day at the same place where the fireworks were that evening. They were having a kids fishing contest which we did not participate in because we have no fishing stuff. The kids liked looking at the big fish the kids caught. They had crafts for the kids, face painting, blow up jumpy toys, and snow cones (all free.....my favorite). The kids went on a few more blow up toys that night before the fireworks started. I love the 4th of July!!!!

OH man you guys did the fourth right! What a fun day. I love all the stuff that a big city offers. So much fun, and even more fun that you get so involved. Glad to see you guys are making Memphis your home so well. MISS You! IT's been too long.
Want to know how much fireworks I saw on the 4th? I think I saw one driving home with the kids as Justin headed off to work. You certainly did do the 4th right! We so did it wrong this year. Next year I will have to make it a bigger priority!
